  • Overview

    Assist the VP Director of Consumer Lending and Loan Operations, in managing a variety of financial and regulatory responsibilities of Loan Operations and Collection functions.  Monitors customer service standards, reviews, interprets, and recommend changes to policies and procedures. Effectively problem solves customer issues relating to transaction history and account maintenance. 


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


    • Responsible for ensuring mortgage /consumer/commercial loan servicing policies and procedures best serve the Bank and its customers.
    • Supervise daily operation of a collection team within Delinquency Control, ensuring collectors' compliance with SSB’s policies and procedures and all applicable government regulations.
    • Review all custodial bank account reconciliations
    • Responsible for timely delivery and accuracy of all investor reports, cash remittances and reconciliations
    • Responsible for monthly reconciliation and certification of all general ledger accounts
    • Provide advice, counseling and solutions through staff and directly to customer inquiries.
    • Oversee daily operations of servicing department and supervise servicing staff, hire, train, assigns discipline and conduct performances appraisal.
    • Provide service and service support, training, coaching, recognition and subordinate development to all servicing staff
    • Research and maintain accurate statistical records of department activity and relevant information. 
    • Perform all duties professionally and within the South Shore’s service standards.


    • Maintain and excellent understanding of applicable regulations and laws including but not limited to: RESPA, Flood Disaster Protection Act, Fair Credit Reporting, Regulation Z (Truth in Lending), Regulation B (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation P (Privacy of Consumer Financial Information), Service Members Civil Relief Act of 2003. Maintain an up to date understanding of bank policies and procedures as they relate to compliance.
    • Complete appropriate compliance training.



    Supervises five + subordinate personnel, and any departmental additions.



    Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



    Maintain a solid understanding of Microsoft Office products such as MS Excel and MS Word.  Maintain an excellent understanding all systems utilized in Loan Operations such as Fiserv’s Cleartouch and LaserPro, CoreLogic Tax service systems, and Lee & Mason Insurance Tracking systems, etc.
